Below: Our rocky lunch table at the Whirlpool. The water in the river (middle of the picture, far side) is coming from Lake Erie and has recently dropped over the Falls. It flows left (north) towards where we had started hiking. The USA is on the far, left side of the picture. Straight across and on the right side of the picture is Canada and we are on the Canadian side too. We are located under the cable car wires below Thompson Point. [The Whirlpool Aero Car is a cable car located in Niagara Falls, that transports passengers over a section of the Niagara River referred to as the Niagara Whirlpool where we had lunch. Below: The joys of retirement! The two of us spent three days in the Niagara Falls area and pre-hiked the Glen and then over to the Whirlpool the day before the group arrived. Our thanks to Mother Nature for such great hiking weather. Even better, we had such an enthusiastic, postive and appreciative group. Some of the group had never experienced such a spectacular trail and so close to home. >>> picture by Pauline
